Re-scheduling & No-Shows

The week starts Sunday at 1pm and ends Thursday at midnight.

Every team’s game must be completed by EOD Thursday for that week. Any game not completed will be an automatic zero for both team members.

Teams will have the opportunity to re-schedule their game earlier provided it is played any time before the week is done.

How Handicaps are Calculated

Handicaps are calculated based on your Average Weekly Scores relative to the Weekly League Scoring Average.

Therefore, if on average, you and your partner shoot 5 strokes higher than the Weekly League Scoring Average, your handicap will be -5.  The handicap values are updated on a weekly basis to include the latest scoring data.

The calculation uses your past rounds to become more accurate over time. Outlier rounds are given less weight in the calculation.

Handicap Adjustment

Handicaps are calculated and adjusted every week based on your scoring history.

  • No rewinds are allowed

Injured Reserve

If you can’t play due to an unexpected injury, you can ask another player of similar skill/handicap rating to play for you. However this requires final approval by the commissioner.

Handicap Adjustment in IR Situation:

The substituting player’s handicap is used instead of the player on IR.

Scoring

The number of strokes accumulated at the end of each round by each team are ordered by lowest to highest.

The lowest scoring team receives 9 points. The highest scoring team receives 0 points.

If more than one team tie on strokes, we total the points between those two spots in the order and divide by the number of teams that tied. For example if two teams tie for first:

					9pts (first place) + 8pts (second place) = 17 pts
17 / 2 = 8.5

Each team receives 6.5pts.

How Handicaps Affect Scoring

The handicaps of each player on the team are totaled and sum of the team’s score plus their handicaps is calculated. For example if the team has a individual handicaps of +2 and +2.5, and they score an 80, the final score would be 84.5. each teams final score including handicaps is ordered by lowest to highest and points allocated accordingly.

					80 (score) + 2 (player one handicap) + 2.5 (player two handicap)
= 84.5 (final score)

Additional points can be accumulated via bonus challenges.

Gimmes

Gimme’s will be set to 6 ft or 2 Yards for the current season.

Additional Challenges

Closest To The Pin

At the start of the week, I will select two Par 3 holes (an odd and even) and mark them on the board/website. Each player on their team will make an attempt and record their distance to the pin on the white board. After all rounds are complete we will assign 1 point to the winning player.

Longest Drive

At the start of the week, we will select two holes (an odd and an even) which is where we will track the longest drive challenge. You must be on the fairway for your drive to count. Each player on their team will make an attempt. The player with the longest drive in regulation will receive 1 point.

Fairways in Regulation

At the end of the game, we will check the game stats to see what each team’s FIR percentage is. At the end of the week, each player on the the team with the highest FIR percentage receives 1 point.

Greens in Regulation

At the end of the game, we will check the game stats to see what each team’s GIR percentage is. At the end of the week, each player on the the team with the highest FIR percentage receives 1 point.

Putting Accuracy

Putting Accuracy combines two things:

  1. Distance Efficiency — How much total putting distance a team covers per putt
→ (Total Distance ÷ Number of Putts)

  2. Putt Efficiency — How close they are to averaging one putt per hole
→ (Holes ÷ Number of Putts)

Each team’s score is compared to the team that had the best distance efficiency (the most distance covered per putt). Then those two factors are multiplied together and expressed as a percentage:

If any results from the above cause a tie, then the points are split.

Practicing The Course Before Your Round

As a team you cannot practice the upcoming week’s course with your team partner. You can however play the course individually before your round.

Team Play

Teams play an alternate shot format. One team member takes even holes and the other takes odd holes for their tee-offs then alternate from tee-off.

Team Mulligan Rule

Each team is allowed to take one mulligan during the game. The person who took the shot being reversed must take a 2oz shot of the weekly sidewall feature. The taking of the alcohol shot must be filmed and posted to the group.

As an alternative, you can place $10 in cash into the Mulligan jar. It must be paid immediately in cash.

At the end of the season this will be used in some way to benefit the league.

The rehit should be filmed and posted to the group chat as well.
